As reported in an exclusive by Transfer Market Web, Manchester United are keeping a very close eye on Andrea Belotti’s progress at Torino this season.
What’s the story?
Currently doing the business in a big way for Torino, Italian international Belotti has started to attract the attention of England’s biggest clubs.
That’s according to Transfer Market Web, who say that the forward is being ‘thoroughly scouted’ by Manchester United. We’re not sure if that’s different from regular scouting but it certainly sounds as though the Old Trafford side are interested.
Also interested, according to the report, are Premier League heavy hitters Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. That means we could be set for a big transfer battle in the coming windows.
He could cost a pretty penny, with his contract release clause set at a massive £83m, according to the outlet.
The future
Interest in Belotti is completely understandable given the incredible season he’s currently enjoying in Serie A.
In a division that is notoriously hard to score in, he’s netted a massive 17 times this season. With another 2 in the Italian Cup, that’s 19 in all competitions so far this term. Scoring 8 of those in his last 9 appearances, he could barely be in better form right now.
It hasn’t gone unnoticed by the national team either and his 3 goals in 5 Italy caps highlight how big a potential he has in the years to come both for club and country.
He could be the goalscoring future Manchester United are looking for. You cannot deny Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s ability but in the twilight stages of his career, who knows how long he’ll continue to do the business at Old Trafford.
At just 23 years of age, Belotti has a big career ahead and if a Premier League club choose to invest in him, he could make a massive splash in England.
