Liverpool fans believe that their form began to tail off after the winter break after their unbeaten run came to a shuddering halt against Watford on Saturday.
The Reds were shockingly thumped 3-0 by Nigel Pearson’s side, who subsequently climbed out of the relegation zone.
Indeed, it was only Watford’s sixth win of the season, while Liverpool had not even dropped points since October when they drew 1-1 with Manchester United.
Call yourself a Liverpool expert? How much did each of these big-money January signings cost?
However, they have been labouring to wins in recent weeks, with the winter break taking place at the beginning of February.
Since their return, they have beaten Norwich City 1-0, lost 1-0 to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and narrowly bested West Ham United 3-2, prior to Saturday’s defeat.
And fans think that the break began a run of poor form.
However, despite finding a way to blame the winter break for their shortcomings in recent times, a number of other fans are unconcerned when it comes to diagnosing the symptoms of the defeat.
Liverpool, after all, remain 22 points clear of Manchester City, who play in the Carabao Cup final against Aston Villa on Sunday.
And a number of supporters have taken the time to point out that they are still overwhelming favourites to win the league.
Liverpool face Chelsea in the FA Cup later this week before a Premier League clash with AFC Bournemouth as they bid to get back to winning ways.
Meanwhile, this man would be a huge upgrade for Liverpool next season!
