Manchester United extended their lead to 10pts at the top of the Premier League in what Fergie described as a ‘casual’ performance. Tottenham finally ended their recent barren spell with a 3-2 victory at White Hart Lane to maintain their pursuit of a Champions League place; however it wasn’t good news for the bottom three clubs in the Premier League who all lost, given the initiative to the clubs above them in this afternoon’s fixtures to pull away and closer to safety.
In the papers this morning there are a mixed bag of stories that include Ashley Young focusing on Aston Villa’s fight; tempers flare in the Premier League, while Dalglish remains keen on Wickham and is out to gazump Spurs’ expected move to sign him this summer.
